Hello! I'm Don and I hold a BFA in Acting/Theatre Arts, and have for the past 40 years successfully served in various executive positions in resorts, hotels, catering operations, and hospitality staffing. Married 36 years (to the same woman!), have two adult children, two adult dogs, and love reading cooking, SCUBA, and being outdoors! How did you first become involved with Swift Youth Foundation? 15 years ago my daughter invited me to Camp Swift in Prescott, Arizona. Why did you decide to more deeply support Swift and join the Board/Staff? While at Camp Swift, after seeing a young girl of about 6-7 years of age stuffing rolls in her pocket because she did not know if she was going to eat again that day, I knew I had to get more involved. When talking about Swift, what are you most excited to tell others about? The in almost 40 years Swift has grown from a grass roots high school project to a thriving nonprofit serving and mentoring disadvantaged youth across the Phoenix area, and the numerous successes of past Swift Youth campers who have grown into community leaders. What is your favorite Swift program and why? Tough question, but I think I have to go with Camp Swift. I was privileged to go to summer camp when I was young, and seeing children who have never been out of the city joyfully experiencing 5 days in the forest of Prescott, AZ is tremendously fulfilling. At Camp Swift, are you Team Grilled Cheese or Team Tomato Soup?
Uh-Uh, not going there! |
