I started volunteering at Camp Swift when my son, Zach, was 2-years old. (For those of you who don't know Zach, he is now old enough to be going off to graduate school) Personally, I knew a few people back then, so it wasn’t too overwhelming when I arrived at Camp Swift not knowing what to expect or how I would fit in as a volunteer. But what happened to me then, and still happens every time I attend a Swift program or event (22 years later), is what I wish everyone could experience. Volunteering one’s time is just one aspect that helps make our part of the world a better place by showing the youth we serve the potential path to a better life.
