Kristisha Mevises has always had a passion for helping children. She was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, and moved to Tucson in 2018 to attend the University of Arizona. Six years later, she found a love for the state and moved to Phoenix shortly after her commencement. In her teenage and young adult years, Kristisha spent her time as a camp counselor, student volunteer, program intern, and community service coordinator. Her most memorable experience being her senior year of high school when she became a student volunteer for the Children Developmental Institute in Canoga Park, California where her passion for working with children was solidified. Kristisha graduated in 2022 with a degree in Family Studies and Human Development, with a minor in childhood development. Shortly after graduating from the University of Arizona, she began her career working with various non-profit organizations in the Phoenix area, such as the YMCA, specializing in after-school programming. She is excited to take the next step in her career by working with the Swift Youth Foundation where she can offer her skills and gain new ones. |
