The Arizona Tax Credit for Contributions to Qualifying Charitable Organizations (formerly known as the Working Poor Tax Credit) was established by the Arizona State Legislature to provide services such as medical care, childcare, food, clothing, shelter, and basic needs for employed families struggling to make ends meet. To encourage charitable contributions specifically for this fund, the state provides a credit of up to $800 for married couples filing jointly (up to $400 for all other filers).

How do i donate?
You can donate on our website by clicking here, you can mail a check to: Swift Youth Foundation 7950 E. Acoma Dr., Suite 106 Scottsdale, AZ 85260, or you can call us at (480) 443-5645 to give over the phone.
How do i Know if I qualify?
If you have an Arizona tax liability, you qualify. If you file your taxes jointly, both spouses can qualify. You no longer need to itemize your tax deductions in order to qualify. *Please consult a tax advisor for expert advice on your specific tax situation
Do i qualify for the credit if i do not owe any taxes at year-end?
Assuming you have a state tax liability, the credit reduces it independently from any tax that you may have withheld during the course of the year. If you withheld an amount equal to or greater than your tax liability, the credit will increase your state tax refund.
If I already gave my tax credit donation to a Foster Care Organization , do I still qualify?
Yes!* The state of Arizona actually offers several different tax credits. If you have Arizona tax liability, you qualify for all of them! Here’s a list of all of the tax credits so you can take full advantage:
- Contributions made or Fees Paid to a Public School - Form 322
- Public School Tuition Organizations – Form 323
- PLUS “Switcher” Tax Credit Program – Form 348
- Public Schools – Form 322
- Contributions to Qualifying Charitable Organizations – Form 321 *Use this to claim your donation to Swift!
- Contributions to Qualifying Foster Care Charitable Organizations - Form 352
- AZ Military Relief Fund – Form 340
How do I file for the credit?
You or your accountant report the name of the Qualifying Charitable Organization (Swift Youth Foundation) and the following QCO Code for the organization: 20358 you donated to as well as the dollar amount of your donation to the Department of Revenue on Form 321.
HOW DO I VERIFY THE ORGANIZATION I SUPPORT QUALIFIES FOR THE CREDIT?
Visit the Arizona Department of Revenue website to see if an organization is a qualified charity.
I don't Itemize My Taxes, can I still take the Credit?
Yes! You do not need to itemize deductions to take the credit.
I'd like to take advantage of other tax credits - any recommendations?
Yes! (And remember, you can take these credits in addition to taking the Tax Credit for Charitable Organizations!)
