Teen VolunteersIf you are a college-bound high school-aged teen who loves working with kids, then volunteering with Swift Youth Foundation is definitely for you! Most of our teen volunteers say that their experience as a counselor is the most life-changing and eye-opening experience they have ever had. Most of our teen volunteers are involved as counselors at Camp Swift, and many participate in our Out-of-School programs throughout the year. The overall time commitment as a teen volunteer varies depending on involvement throughout the year, but to be eligible to attend our overnight camp session, teens are required to attend a three-hour orientation in Phoenix prior to camp, an on-site orientation the day before campers arrive and counselors must stay the entire session of camp. Please see the Teen Leadership section of the website for more information on opportunities for teens.

Adult VolunteersDIRECT PROGRAM VOLUNTEERS – SUPPORT STAFF
We refer to our college-aged and adult volunteers as ‘Support Staff’ because they really provide the support needed to effectively run our quality programs. Support staff helps with a vast range of specific activities, from directly facilitating youth and teens in values and character-building programs to helping prepare meals to sweeping and mopping floors. The overall purpose of Support Staff is to ensure that everything we do runs smoothly so that our campers and counselors have the best experience possible. Training for this volunteer position is primarily on-the-job, though we hold an orientation for Support Staff who attend Camp Swift the day before the counselors arrive. Support Staff are invited to volunteer for any of our programs, but must be able to pass a background check. Please contact volunteer@campswift.org if you are interested in volunteering or for more information.

ORGANIZATIONAL VOLUNTEERS
Our programs wouldn’t be possible without the extensive support of our organizational volunteers throughout the year. These volunteers assist with just about everything needed to run an effective nonprofit organization. We are regularly looking for individuals with special skills in fundraising, volunteer management, human resources, financial management, and marketing who are willing to donate their time and talent to ensuring long-term organizational success. In addition, we often need support with various administrative tasks. Please contact volunteer@campswift.org if you are interested in learning more about our numerous organizational volunteer opportunities.
