Reflecting on my career, it is clear that my path was not chosen; rather, it chose me. From my early days as a child, my mother instilled in me a sense of helping those who did not have the resources available to them that I had. I wasn't too far removed from the circumstances that they found themselves in just a few years prior to us moving to Las Vegas, These weekends that I dreaded for being taken away from my friends for a few hours every Saturday would serve as the pivotal moment for the foundation being set for my lifelong mission in calling to serve. My resume might list degrees in clinical psychology and applied behavioral analysis, but these credentials merely provided the tools for a mission that my heart had already decided on. I recall countless stories of individuals and families whose lives I’ve touched through organizations that matter, it is not as a testament to my own achievements, but as a reminder of the vast needs that still exist. Through my work, I have sought not just to support but to empower, fostering resilience and hope in those we serve. Away from the office, my life is filled with the simple joys of family moments, my forever loyal therapy dog, the curiosity of a child still learning anything that I can get my hands on so I can stay current, the smell of the pages of a good hard back cover book, and the tranquil solace of nature's trails. These experiences enrich my understanding of community and the profound interconnectedness of our lives, reinforcing my dedication to the mission that has become my life's work. |
